Hordetide

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

This policy explains what data the mobile game Hordetide (the "game") collects, why, who it is shared with, and what choices you have. The game is made by Bention Games ("we", "us"), an independent developer.

The short version

1. Who is responsible

Bention Games is responsible for the data the game processes. You can reach us at bentiongames@gmail.com about anything in this policy.

2. What data is collected and why

Game account and progress

When you start the game, it creates a player account with Unity Gaming Services (Unity Authentication). This account is identified by a random player ID. If you are signed in to Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center (iOS), the game links that account so your progress can be restored on another device. From that sign-in we receive your platform player ID and your public nickname.

Your game progress is stored with Unity Cloud Save. This includes gold, gems, unlocked heroes, maps and items, purchases such as the Full Version, records and challenge results. We use this only to save your progress and restore it if you reinstall the game or change phone.

Leaderboards

Your scores in the endless mode and the weekly challenge are sent to Unity Leaderboards together with your player ID and nickname. Other players can see your nickname and score.

Advertising

The game offers optional rewarded video ads, for example to continue a run. Ads are delivered by Unity LevelPlay (including Unity Ads), which may work with other ad networks to fill an ad. When an ad is requested or shown, these partners may collect:

They use this to show ads, measure them, prevent fraud and, only if you agree, personalise them.

Purchases

In-app purchases (gems and the Full Version) are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We receive a purchase receipt (product, transaction ID and date) to deliver what you bought and to restore it. We never receive your card or payment details.

Crash and diagnostic data

The game is built with the Unity engine, which may send technical crash and performance reports (such as device model, operating system and error details) to Unity so problems can be found and fixed.

Data stored only on your phone

Your settings (sound, language, controls) and your ad-privacy answer are stored only on your device.

3. Your ad choices

The first time you open the game, it asks whether ads may be personalised (based on your interests) or non-personalised. Both options give the same rewards. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Ad privacy, and the change applies immediately. Non-personalised ads still use some device data to deliver the ad, count views and prevent fraud.

On iOS, the game only asks for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency) if you choose personalised ads. You can change this in your iPhone's settings. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Google settings.

Buying the Full Version removes ads, and no ad partner is started.

4. Who we share data with

We only share data with the services the game needs to work. Each handles your data under its own privacy policy:

ServiceUsed forPrivacy policy
Unity Technologies (Gaming Services, LevelPlay, Unity Ads, engine diagnostics) Player account, cloud save, leaderboards, ads, crash reports Unity privacy policy

5. Legal basis (Swiss, EEA and UK players)

6. How long data is kept

Your cloud save, player account and leaderboard entries are kept while you play the game. If you ask us to delete them (see below), we do so. Ad partners keep data according to their own policies. Uninstalling the game removes the data stored on your phone.

7. Deleting your data

To have your player account, cloud save and leaderboard entries deleted, email bentiongames@gmail.com with the subject "Hordetide data deletion". Include the name the game shows in Settings next to "Signed in as" (your Google Play Games or Game Center name), so we can find your account. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Purchases cannot be restored after deletion, except the Full Version, which the store restores to the same store account.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), the GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority; in Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

9. Children

Hordetide is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the game, contact us and we will delete their data.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also let players know in the game.
